DudleyRdCrashFlowers26032010Heartfelt messages from family and friends referring to the man as KB, Goldie or Kevin surround the scene of the crash and on social networking sites and on-line forums.

One from Steph read: “R.I.P babes ur gonna be missed but never forgotten”.

Police said they did not currently believe another vehicle had been involved.

Word outta street is that Ford Focus car was being chased down along Dudley Road heading towards city centre in the early hours of the morning after the the people inside had been to club. At approx 5am the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and hit a lamp post near City Hospital (outside the Frying Pan) and overturned.

Police have reported that there was no other vehicle involved in the crash – but ‘on road’ it is believed that the vechilce was being chased by a Saxo (but the same source also said that the car being driven that crashed was a Golf GT – Dat’s how word is on road.)

The section of Dudley Road was closed in both directions while specialist traffic officers carried out an accident reconstruction.

John Hawker, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “Crews found a car on its side with considerable damage.

“One man who was in the vehicle had suffered serious multiple injuries and despite the best efforts of ambulance crews, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead.

“Two other men suffered multiple serious injuries. Both men were transferred to City Hospital while a fourth man suffered serious head and leg injuries. He was taken to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.”
