A woman has been charged with possession of a firearm after a loaded machine gun was discovered in a police raid in Wolverhampton.
Gemma Lewis appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court a day after a series of raids in Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
More than 40 officers raided properties in Operation Ikon.
Police discovered a US military pistol, which is capable of firing 1,000 rounds-a-minute, at one address in Wolverhampton.
Body armour, CS spray, a bullet and weed were seized at two other raids in the city.
A fourth raid was also carried out in Castle Bromwich in Birmingham.
Lewis, 23, of Park Street South, Blakenhall, Wolverhampton, reserved her plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 17.
She was charged under section five of the Firearms Act.
