The singer’s lawyer Bert Samuels tells Music News that Jah Cure’s sentencing was postponed until the 29th of April. Mr. Samuels adds that irrespective of the sentencing outcome, they intended to appeal.

The Police say they found a small amount of marijuana in Jah Cure’s car during a traffic stop in April last year along Dunrobin Avenue in St. Andrew.

When contacted about how the singer was doing, Jah Cure’s publicist Robert Morgan commented, “him a tek it easy, is not a major thing, is just a spliff, not even an entire spliff.”

He added, “he realise him just have to be more careful with what him a do. As a Rastaman, Jah Cure will smoke weed, is not a secret. The nation doesn’t recognise weed as a sacrament to Rasta. But he realises it needs to be done in the privacy of wherever.”

The singer had spent almost eight years in jail after being convicted on gun, rape and robbery charges in 1999.

Since his release from jail, he has lived a relatively low-key life, only surfacing to release and promote new songs and albums, the latest of which is his collaborations with R&B sen-sation Keri Hilson called World Cry and Each Tear with Mary J Blige.

According to Morgan, he doesn’t believe this will have an adverse affect on Jah Cure’s career saying, “Jah Cure’s fans understand what happened, his real fans will support him.” Morgan added that since his release, Jah Cure has been an example to persons both young and old.
