The band are considered as one of the best live acts in their native Hungary playing over 300 gigs around Europe to crowds of a thousand to ten thousand people while supporting Snoop Dogg, Jamiroqui, Moby, David Guetta, Slayer, and many many more.
The new single ‘Cross The Roads’ was recorded with Beenie Man while they performed together at a Hungarian festival in 2012, it’s an infectious uplifting dancehall / moombahton (Moombahton is a fusion of house music and reggaeton that was created by American DJ and producer Dave Nada in Washington) crossover. Beenie isn’t the first Dancehall artist they have played with . . . Beenie follows a long line of Jamaican artists to have worked with Irie Maffia, artists such as Luthan Fyah, General Levy, Mr Lexx and Blessed. The remix of Cross The Roads comes courtesy of the talented up and coming German producer Donkong.
Almost three years have passed since the release of Irie Maffia’s last album “What’s My Name?!”, and the new album, due early in 2014 “. . is going to hit hard in the clubs and at live concerts as well” – say the producers of the new album, Márton Élő (ELO) and Gáspár Horváth (Jumo Daddy).
The new material is born out of the mixture of the well known Maffia sound incorporating reggae, hiphop, rock and funk, and the new electronic music trends. MCs (Sena, Busa, Columbo and Kemon) also bring continuity between the old and the new sound, and the many live instruments will also still be present both on the album and on stage.
