Tyseley Just B.E Part 2
Due to cuts in Birmingham City Council's (known as BCC) budgets some of the services available to the city have to be cut back. This is not just going to affect Youth Services it is straight across the council, from housing, parks to child services. It's reported that there will be 1,000 jobs cut as the council have to save £102 Million.
The young people in Tyseley wanted to let Birmingham City Council know about the proposed cuts which may affect their centre.
Tyseley's 16:
I feel like startin a protest
The council think that they know best
The youth centres all we got . . .
And now they wanna close it
This could lead to broken noses
Kids on the street getting sliced like loafs of Hovis
Our area's bad, and we know this
But BCC don't notice
It's like they wanna leave us in the dark
Bare man are leaving needles in the park
They turned us into dogs so you'll hear our bark
But we don't wanna bite and leave our mark
The council don't respect us
They'll close the centre and show man a college prospectus
We've had enough of the endless lectures
So do what ya doing and things are gonna get wreckless.
Chorus (x2)
Dis is what East Brum’s like
It’s not a TV story or a punchline
And I wish I could tell you it was sometimes
What can I say?, it’s what it’s like in this tuff life
