Bruts and Paigey Cakey shine like a star
At just 20 years of age, the dynamic lyricist has collaborated with the likes of Dot Rotten, Ghetts and Chipmunk, dropped 9 acclaimed mixtapes between 2006 and 2011 and performed extensively on radio and on stage - BBC 1xtra, Musicalize, Urban Development Industry Takeover, Bigga Fish and Sunday Show are just a few of the places championing Bruts moving into 2012.
The start of a new year sees a new focus and direction from the Plaistow native, with his aim now placed firmly on bringing what he describes as 'real life rap' into the crossover arena - a feat rarely achieved in the current musical climate. His latest single, which is produced by Dwayne Patrick (Ghetts, Fem Fel, Fumin, Roachee, Kele Le Rock, Mark Asari) sees him team up with North London rapper / singer / dancer / actress Paigey Cakey, who you may have spotted starring as Dimples in last summer's big screen hit Attack The Block. Paigey jumps straight in on synth driven instrumentation with a feisty introduction before man of the moment Bruts takes over to deliver to some typically intense wordplay, before the verses are broken down by an effectively memorable, chart friendly chorus.
'Star' will be available via all leading digital stores on 26/03/12, and is accompanied by a video courtesy of director IllusionaryFed.
