When Summer’s Blazin...What’s Your Style?
If there’s one thing that everyone is waiting for- its summer! Those long hot days when you can be as funky, spontaneous and eccentric as you like with your summer wardrobe, and let your style loose! We aint quite there yet though, right now we’re stuck in limbo! One minute the suns shining, next thing it’s raining! So how do we really dress for the weather? It all about mixing n matching!
Females, for now, pair your skinny jeans with ankle boots, a loose shirt and a tailored jacket. Or even a cute dress with a jacket. Try leggings, with an oversized jumper and sandals, and remember to accessorise to the max! Keep the outfit simple and remember the finishing touches make it!
It’s official that one of the hottest colours on trend will be sunshine yellow! So now you can shine inside and out. Bright colours will always look good on black/tanned skin so go wild! Another clear trend setter will be denim. Yes, it’s back from the 90’s. Whether its skirts, dresses, shorts, jeans or jackets – but a denim shirt is a must! And it’s the same for you males. The ‘utility chic’ is also emerging on catwalks and onto the high street: it’s all things khaki, grey, neutral and simple. It’s military but with a soft edge.
Bold prints shout ‘look at me!’ so invest in some trousers/dresses with a tribal or floral print. The new romantics trend of nudes/pinks/skin tones is still around and set to get stronger so make sure you have a good mix of feminine favourites. Maxi dresses WILL be back and have been appearing in Topshop, H&M and Miss Selfridge recently. Get one! It’s the one piece you can wear effortlessly.
Finally, black and white will be very popular! The simplest of looks will make the biggest statement.
Make up
Fuchsia, orange, yellow, blue, gold and turquoise; all the brightest and most girly colours for this summer. For a catwalk inspired day time look, add a coloured liner to the bottom of the eye as suggested by Elle magazine. If you’re going for all out glamour, then mix and blend a few different shades and create a sexy evening look. Lipstick is also back on the cards. Pretty pinks and bold reds WILL be everywhere! Remember to keep skin natural looking.
